Legal Department:
The global legal team consists of twelve lawyers (eight are located in the United States and four in Germany).

THE CANDIDATE:

He/she needs to be fluent and able to conduct business in English and Chinese languages. The ideal candidate needs to be business savvy – i.e. someone who can put the legal advice and analysis in the context of real world problems and assist Company personnel in finding solutions to the problems and issues presented.

The successful candidate will need to provide analysis and counsel on legal and policy issues, anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the company, and develop and recommend company policy and position on legal issues.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
?        Provide analysis and counsel on legal and policy issues to include: mergers & acquisitions, commercial agreements, protecting intellectual property, nondisclosure agreements, outsourcing and other business agreements.
?        Provide legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits.
?        Assist in implementation of the Company’s compliance and training programs.
?        Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the company.
?        Develop and recommend company policy and position on legal issues.
?        Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues.
?        Supervise and assist outside counsel to represent the Company or its officials in various legal proceedings.
?        Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents.
?        Draft and administer complex vendor, client, and employment contracts.
?        Develop and recommend operating policy and procedural improvements.
?        Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
?        Knowledge of the global automotive industry is preferred.
?        Completion of a legal degree from an accredited law school.
?        8 or more years of experience in a corporate law department (preferable) or in a private law firm.
?        Requires an international or global perspective.
?        Requires license to practice law in China.
?        Self-starter who is capable of independent function, yet works well in a team atmosphere.
?        Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
